This event will be for SFBWHWTC members only by reservation.  All Westies owned by club members are welcome - other breeds may not attend.  Due to space limitations, this event is not open to subscribers or non-members.

This year in addition to our Pet Grooming Workshop, we will also have a Dog Teeth Cleaning Clinic with Peigi Cleminshaw, a dog dental hygienist.  Peigi will be taking reservations for up to 14 dogs to have their teeth cleaned.  The fee for teeth cleaning is $85.00 per dog payable directly to Peigi on the day of the event.

Bring your Westies, an exercise pen, blanket, folding chairs and a dish to share at the Pot Luck Picnic Lunch. Please do not bring items that need to be heated or refrigerated.

All dogs must be on a leash or in an exercise pen in our back yard. They may run off leash in our front yard.  NO Flexi-leads or retractable leads will be allowed.  All dogs must be on a non-retractable leash no longer than 6 feet or in an exercise pen when not participating in an event. Owners must clean up after their own dogs.

The Sklarin family home has a gated front and back yard to let the dogs run free for the morning and early afternoon in a Westie friendly, squirrel frightened environment.

The Sklarins' neighbors in back can be sensitive to sustained barking; if your dog is a barker bring him/her to the front yard to enjoy him/herself.

GROOMING WORKSHOP INSTRUCTIONS

Bring your dog clean, but not freshly bathed.  We would prefer that you not bathe your dog less than 5 days prior to the day of the Grooming Workshop.  The hair is more difficult to grasp if it is too clean.  This may be the ONLY time you ever hear someone tell you your dog is too clean!

The following is a list of the grooming tools and equipment you will need.  If you don't have equipment or all of the equipment listed, come any way.  We will have extra tools and equipment for your use.

  • curved scissors

  • thinning scissors

  • fine stripping knife

  • medium fine stripping knife

  • coarse stripping knife

  • Greyhound comb

  • long wire slicker

  • palm slicker

  • guillotine nail cutters

  • Quick stop

  • grooming table

  • grooming arm

  • grooming noose

  • pin brush
