The more...the merrier!

Thank you for your interest in joining the San Francisco Bay West Highland White Terrier Club (SFBWHWTC).  We are happy to welcome new members.  Our application process is outlined below.

The Application Process

• Each applicant must abide by the SFBWHWTC's Constitution, By-Laws and Code of Ethics as well as the rules of the AKC.

• Each applicant must complete, sign and submit a Membership Application form.  The applicant's two sponsors must also sign the application form.

• Mail the application with a $25.00 check for the first year's membership dues to the Membership Chair:

• The Membership Chair must read the application at two club meetings.

• The Membership Chair must publish that the application is to be considered in the meeting notice.

• Affirmative vote by a simple majority of the members present and voting at the meeting shall be required to elect the applicant.

Benefits of Membership

• The $25.00 annual membership dues includes a subscription to our bimonthly Highland Tartan newsletter.  You may elect to receive your subscription of the HIGHLAND TARTAN newsletter in hard copy format to your postal mailing address or online in PDF format.

• Members of the San Francisco Bay West Highland White Terrier Club are granted voting privileges at general membership meetings.

• Active members participate in club activities and serve on club committees.

• Attend annual club Fun Day for members only.

• Members may share 'Brags' about their Westies in the Highland Tartan newsletter and on our website.

• Each year the club sponsors a Specialty Show in April held in conjunction with the Northern California Terrier Association with a Dinner and Auction in the evening.

• Each year the club hosts two informal Westie picnics, the Spring Fling and the Tartan Games at Vasona Lake Park in Los Gatos, CA that are open to members and non-members alike.

• The club presents Annual Awards to members whose Westies have earned an AKC title during the year at our festive Holiday Luncheon and Auction.

• Network with other Westie fanciers.

If you decide not to pursue membership in the SFBWHWTC, you may subscribe to our club's bimonthly Highland Tartan newsletter for $15.00 per year.

 

Our newsletter will keep you informed of club meetings, activities and upcoming events as well as provide you with helpful and fun articles regarding caring, training and living with our wonderful Westies.
