Hearts and Bones

Loving comments about these special Westies from their new guardians...
Bailie, male, Unknown DOB, age 5 or 6 years

Bailie is all Westie - with a mind of his own!  His days are filled with chasing squirrels, playing with all of his toys, napping and taking afternoon walks.  Every night he puts himself to bed at 9:30 PM no matter what we are doing.  The words "heel" and "come" mean nothing to him but he'll always sit and stay for a treat.  Thank you Westie Rescue for so much joy!

Max, male, born 1993
Max came to us on November 12, 2000.  He is approximately 7 years old.  He loves where we live because it is very quiet and a bit remote.  He does enjoy riding to the post office and quick trips to the market but barks at everyone who comes by the car!!  He loves people though (once inside the house!).  We love him very much and laugh at him many times each day!  We also have "Precious" a poodle/terrier mix from our shelter and they enjoy each other.

Burglar, male, 1990

Burglar has to be a "one-of-a-kind" Westie with his floppy ears, curved tail and long lean frame on long legs.  He looks quite different from other Westies.  However, his sense of humor, expressive face, gentleness, adventuresome spirit and his pure loveableness place him in a league with all courageous Westies.  His consistent ability to dig out of yards and disappear has earned him the nickname "Houdini"  However, like his name "Burglar" suggests, he always steals your heart.

Angus, male, born March 13, 2000

My Westie came to me by the name of "Curley".  The original owner named him "Killer".  I wanted a Scottish name for a Scotsman, so he is now known as "Angus".  He is an active pup of 11 months - very smart, sweet and loveable.  He needs a firm hand and we are working on training.  I became a widow last June so Angus is great company and helping to fill the void in my life.

~~ Ann Wylie

Casper, male, about 17 months old

I have only had Casper for a week but he is a sweet little fellow.  He's learning to play and loves to go for walks.  He also enjoys just sitting in my lap.  His tail has been broken in two places but he's holding it up more every day.

~~ Mary Adams

Kirk, male, born about March 3, 2000

My name is "Kirk".  I was lost and sick.  The SFSPCA helped me, the SFBWHWTC rescued me.  I'm well again and happy.  I have resumed all my Westie jobs -- shredding papers, sleeping on the bed at night, giving love and protecting the yard from cats and birds.  I'm very busy!

Happy, male, born June 2, 1998

Happy is true to his name.  He loves people and attention; long, long walks to Peet's Coffee; a lazy afternoon in the sunshine; playing with his toys; play dates with his girlfriends (Kodi, Niki and Bree); belly rubs and snuggling at bedtime.  Happy has brought us so much joy and we are truly thankful he found us.

Angus, male, born June 1, 1994

Angus is fun loving and brings joy with him.  He loves to play hard.  Give him a yard and a squeak toy and he is in Heaven.

Bridie, female, born June 1990

When we adopted Bridie in June 1998 she was eight years old.  In her previous home she was being attacked by their Doberman.  We immediately fell in love with this sweet and tenacious little Westie.  MacGregor, our other Westie, was less than thrilled to have a sister, but now they are inseparable.  Last year Bridie was diagnosed with lymphoma and is going through chemotherapy.  So far she is doing terrific!  Bridie was the perfect addition to our family -- she was meant to be with us.
