Hearts and Bones

Loving comments about these special Westies from their new guardians...
Casper, male, born 1999

Casper is the sweetest dog you'd ever want.  He will play fetch with his Kong until you are blue in the face.  We went to obedience school (and he got me trained).  He's the hit of the park at Lake Pardee.  A five minute walk takes an hour as we have to stop and visit everyone -- and try to chase a few squirrels.

Haggis, male, born ~1989
Haggis is as close to perfection as Westies come: loving and loyal; steadfast and true; tolerant of and nurturing to our new younger Westie, Archie.  Although headstrong and tenacious, he is a contented and playful senior.  For five short years, we have been honored to assume responsibility for his care and we cherish every moment shared together.

Murphy, male, born 2000

Murphy has only been with me since the 6th of September.  He is very cute and lovable but has chewed up most of the inside of my shoes, slippers, tore-up the other dog's bed and last thing when I came home the other day there was a big hole chewed in the chicken wire and my duck was laying dead.  My son said "don't hate the dog, Mom, he is new and must have been playing with it".  He looks adorable.  Of course they see him on the computer as they live in NY, but Murphy has captured everybody's heart just the way he looks at you.  It seems his actions are forgiven, but obedience school as soon as possible.

~~ Rozalia Bernstein.

Molly, female, born 1994

Last year we lost our beloved Westie, Bridie, to cancer.  Amazingly, five months later an abandoned Westie showed up on our doorstep.  She obviously had been abused, neglected and in need of medical care.  we named her Molly McGee and from that moment on she knew she found a home.  A special thanks to Pam Evans and the Westie Rescue for their financial support and guidance in helping us with Molly's special needs.

Libby, female, born 1997

Our petite Westie arrived in June with a bag of medicine and a sad face. She is now healthy and adorable.  After two months, Libby has learned what toys are, how to a great watch dog and that she can enjoy being petted.  This pint-sized canine loves her new life and we are grateful to have her.

~~ Marilyn Rogers

Fritz, male, born 1996

Fritz is a happy, relaxed five-year old who moved to San Francisco in March of this year.  Some of his favorite things are squeaky plush toys, an orange football, sitting on a bay window seat looking out at the park across the street, Greenies, organic baby carrots, lamb risotto and Golden Retrievers.  What he hates most in life are sirens, cats and having his nails clipped.

Gillie, female, born 1990

Gillie's gift is being happy.  Everyday she plays with her Westie brother, chases squirrels in the yard, keeps track of the neighbors and let's us know when it's time for dinner.  She never fusses or complains, she always makes me smile.  I'm so glad that she picked me to be her Mom.

~~ Colene Rowell

Chloe, female, born 2000

Chloe and Bridget (littermates) were adopted in 2002 and immediately became precious members of our family.  We lost Bridget in September and Chloe has become the most loving adoring friend to both of us.  She loves her daily walks, chasing squirrels, rabbits and anything else that moves.  Chloe is well behaved and is the center of attention for all family and friends.

~~ Jim and Barbara Thurston

Chloe, female, born 2000

Chloe started life in a puppy mill.  She was sold to a puppy broker.  At the tender age of seven months she was ready to be "rescued".  She is still full of puppyness, but sits "pretty" and also does "pretty paw". She loves to play tug-of-war with her Westie brother, Baxter.  Chloe has a definite clown personality.
