DAISY
-- 12 years old |
-
-
Daisy lights up our lives with her boundless
energy. At 12 years old, she seems to have the energy of a 2 year
old! Each morning she lies in wait for the “Dreaded
Postman”. She barks at the sound of the squeaky brakes of the
postal truck still two blocks away! Daisy patiently slows
her pace to walk in step with Josef.

JOSEF -- 12 years old |
-
-
Josef has been a member of our family for 9 of his
12 years. He has lost most of his sight and hearing but his
“sniffer” is his most powerful sense. Josef is the consummate
protector of the family while Daisy is the family ambassador!

BRITTNEY -- 7 to 10
years old ?
|
-
-
The first time Brittney and I met, she was a very
frightened little Westie. She had been in a “puppy mill” situation,
rescued and sent to Pam. Sadly, she lost her pups and needed a quiet
home. Britt has been my best friend for about two years now. She
smiles with her eyes and her tail all the time. She loves my
daughter Kristie. Britt sleeps right by my bed in her house. Just
before she curls up for the night Britt checks to see that I am in
my bed too. Thank you, Pam, for my little girl.

TRAVIS -- 7 years old |
-
-
Travis came to me 7 years ago at 4 months of age. He
was a typical Westie puppy- opinionated, stubborn and hysterically
funny. Most of all he was loveable and remains that to this day.
Wherever he goes his personality shines through. Nothing gets by
this little guy. His dog sitter has given him the nickname of
“Spunky”.

ELMO
-- 5 years old |
-
-
Elmo’s nick name is “Chunky”. He was originally
from Arkansas and was sent to me by his foster Mother. The minute
he arrived, two years ago, he fell in love with Travis, his big
brother. He is the alpha in the family but gets his way in a quiet
and sneaky way. His tail is always wagging and he lives for his
daily visit to the Foster City dog park where he fence runs with
all the big dogs. He is very brave as long as the fence is there.
Life in my house is always fun with these two great Westies.

SOPHIE -- 5 years
old |
-
-
Sophie is extremely loving, sweet and affectionate
– always showering me with kisses. She is a real social butterfly,
wanting to say hi to every dog and person she sees. Often times,
when the alarm goes off in the morning, Sophie climbs on top of me
and kisses my face until I get out of bed.
I feel very blessed to have this delightful little girl in my life.

Cameron and I have been together for two years.
Every day with him is special. He is full of love and has enriched
my life so much. Thank you Pam for such a wonderful, sweet boy!

BUTTERCUP
--
11 years old |
-
-
Words from Buttercup: I was adopted in 2001 after
being rescued from a puppy mill in Hollister, CA. The vet said I
was probably about 3 years old. Besides my Mom and Dad, I was
welcomed by my human sisters, Eva and Liz, and shortly thereafter
by my Fairy God Mother, Colleen who calls me her fur-child. I am
very loved and spoiled. I am rarely left alone, everyone wants me.
What a good feeling! I am beginning to slow down. My sight
and hearing are aging but I try not to show it when I am around my
youthful friends.

BUDDY --
7 to 8 years old |
-
-
Buddy came to us as a foster care rescue dog. My
father had just had a massive stroke and this dog immediately bonded
to him so we gladly adopted him and called him after my father’s
nickname. He loves “sleepovers” and always likes to visit our
overnight guests before returning to Mom & Dad’s room at dawn. He
keeps us laughing.

LILLE (LILLEHAMMER)
-- 16 ++ years old |
-
-
Lille has traveled all over the country by air and
auto bur prefers the sofa. Friends who are not dog fanciers say “I
would like a dog if it was just like Lille; she is so sweet and
well-behaved”. Our French friend says she has an “elegant” face
and many tell us adopting Lille was one of the best things we’ve
ever done. We call her “Norm’s blood pressure reducer”.

CHLOE & BRODIE --
10 & 9 years old |
-
-
We adopted Chloe and her littermate Bridget in 2002
but we lost Bridget to a bee sting a few months later. So we came
back to the club for a companion for Chloe, and Brodie filled the
bill exactly. Chloe is the boss and Brodie is very happy with this
set up. They are both such sweet little dogs and we can’t imagine
our lives without them. Both dogs vie for positions in Jim’s lap and
chair when Barbara is not around. But usually when Barbara is home,
Chloe will jump up in her lap and nestle under her arm and will
encourage her to rub her tummy at any time. Brodie sticks to Jim
most of the time but he will sit in Barbara’s lap if Jim is
occupied. Both Westies love their walks at Lake Cabot Park every
weekend and while Brodie is most interested in the other dogs on the
trail, Chloe is most interested in using her instincts to do what
she is bred to do – hunting moles and other little critters.

POPO -- 4 years old |
-
-
Popo is a very gentle and loving dog. He is very
out going, likes to play with other dogs and people and loves
toys. He is very smart – it only took him 2 days to be potty
trained. We made the right choice with him. He is a very good
boy. :-)

FRITZ
-- 13 1/2 years old |
Fritz turned 13 in December and has now spent over
eight years of his life with Bill and Ineke, who count their lucky
blessings pretty much every day since they rescued him. Fritz has
had a good year since last years Rescue Parade, enjoying good
health and daily trips to the park. On the other hand, he has
become more of a curmudgeon about the groomer, skateboarders and
squirrel intruders in his backyard.

CASPER
--
7 years old |
-
-
We fell in love with Casper the first day he came to
us. Casper enjoys being outside, lying in the sun or chasing all the
birds and squirrels out of our yard. At night he likes to lay in bed
and watch TV. We feel fortunate he decided to adopt us as his
family.

MAC
--
6 1/2 years old |
-
-
Mac is a goofy lug of a dog, greatly inquisitive and
loves to steal the attention from his sister Emma who believes it is
meant for her alone. He always looks like he understands exactly
what you are saying, will voice his commanding bark if he thinks you
are showing too much attention to the females, be it cuddling for
affection or playing with the toys. He has the sitting/beg posture
routine down to a science for whatever he think he wants! Sometimes
he’s so laid back we wonder if he has terrier blood in him at all !

EMMA
-- 6 1/2 years old |
-
-
Emma was rescued along with her brother Mac from an
ad on Craigslist at the age of 1 ½ yrs. With papers for free. She is
obnoxiously affectionate, loves nothing more than cuddling, has
delusions of royal heritage, and loves to be pampered and the center
of attention. She is the first to bark when she feels there is a
need. Emma is the alpha member of our little pack! She was recently
diagnosed as Addison’s. She’s now called our “Million Dollar Baby”.

CHA
CHA -- 7 years old |
-
-
Cha Cha was another Craigslist free Westie with
papers. She is full of energy, loves to play all day long and will
do a Westie wrestling Smack Down with our male whenever she can. She
has a funny little lilt to her bark, lifts her body up and down and
goes “Woo Woo”. She loves daily walks, rides in the car no matter
how long or short the duration, laying on her back to be petted and
has been known to sleep with her head upside down. Cha Cha startles
visitors with a soft mouth greeting on their wrist to show her
acceptance of them to our pack. She is a really fun little dog to
balance out the other two mellow Westies she shares her home with.
