Hearts and Bones

Loving comments about these special Westies from their new guardians...

Angus, male, born June 1, 1995

Angus enjoys chasing cats and romping in the back yard. His leash is always handy for that one or two mile jog.  He enjoys rawhide and squeaking his favorite ball in your ear when you are on the phone.  He is being playful and pugnacious.  He is all "WESTIE".

Happy, male, born June 2, 1998

Happy loves to play basketball and fetch with me, sit in the sunshine, take long walks, roughhouse with my Dad and be brushed and fall asleep in my Mom's arms.  He loves people and all the neighborhood kids love him.  Happy is the little dog I always wanted.

~~ Sarah White

Angus, male, born September 4, 1998

Angus is a feisty, bold little guy who loves to wrestle with our Briard and Tibetan Terrier.  As far as Angus is concerned, he's ready to fight to be the "top dog".  He loves his crate - it's his own space - a place where can rest or sleep or just hide from our other dogs when they play hide and seek.  Angus is a fast learner.  He has already become partially house-trained and uses the doggie door at will.  Angus can be stubborn and determined but is always cuddly and adorable.

Tiffany, female, born January, 1988

Tiffany may be the smartest member of our family, but she's certainly not the youngest.  Our 11 year old Tiffany adds sparkle to our family outings.  One of her favorite activities is walking with us on the beach and greeting both man and beast.
~~ Julie Juell

Gillee McDuff Rowell, female, born 1993

Gillee is a gentle bundle of love.  This is our second year together.  Each evening she follows me, without a word, until there is finally a lap where she can snooze.

~~ Colene Rowell

McDuff Otewalt, male, born 1996

We received McDuff the second week of August 1998.  He had been clipped very short all over and seemed very sweet; but, oh, how he barked!  We read "Second Hand Dog" more than once.  We were patient and loving which has not been hard to do with this "gentle giant" of a boy.  Between two and three months, Duff began to own us.  He really made it clear that we belonged together and were a family.  He is very much our boy now and is loving and good.  He even barks less!  Thank you, Westie Rescue, for all this LOVE!

Maggie, female, born 1992

Maggie has just come along beautifully this year.  She gets along well with Devin.  They play together all the time.  She loves going on walks and going places in the car.

~~ Paul and Kathy Kelley

Bridie, female, born June 15, 1990

The family Bridie had lived with for 8 years along a 5 year old Doberman could not keep her.  When a Lab puppy (6 months old) came along, the Dobie became very possessive and began attacking Bridie....  We immediately fell in love with this sweet, affectionate, tenacious little Westie.  MacGregor, who is nine, however, was less than thrilled to have a sister.  These two Westies bring us such joy.  Bridie was the perfect addition to our family!  She was meant to be with us....
