- What Does It Really
Mean?
-
- A registration certificate
simply identifies the pup as the offspring of a known sire and
dam, born on a known date. It in no way indicates the quality or state of health
of the dog.
-
- Do not believe the
myth that a "registered"
dog or a dog "with papers" means something special. Do
not be misled into thinking a "registered" dog is a healthy
dog.
-
- Some breeders may take advantage of these common
misconceptions to promote their puppies as "registered"
or "with papers"
hoping the uneducated buyer will imply or assume that they have quality pups.
-
- Dog registration does not guarantee you a quality puppy any more than DMV registration guarantees you a quality
car.
