SFBWHWTC Specialty Sweepstakes Judge, Thursday April 14, 2011

Mr. Henry (Hap) Sutliff, III

Hap Sutliff has a an extended history in dogs, specifically terriers, and more specifically Sealyham Terriers.  Mr. Sutliff's family has been raising Sealyham Terriers since 1938.  Of the 1,516 Sealyham champions registered in the US since 1913, 500 of them descended from his family's first champion, Ch. Rinklestone Tam O'Shanter.  Mr. Sutliff was corresponding secretary for the Del Monte Kennel Club and is currently the Recording Secretary for DMKC.  Mr. Sutliff has judged in the US, Canada and overseas.  Mr. Sutliff brings years of terrier knowledge to the terrier ring.

He has judged Sealys in USA (ASTC Mont Co. Sweeps in 1984 (19 puppies) and 2004 (9 puppies); Great Western Sealy Specialty in 1989 (10 entries) and 2002 (10 entries), Canada (Sealyham Terrier Club of Canada Sweeps in Winnipeg in 2003 (6 entries); all Terrier puppies (38), costume contest (13) and 28 Junior Handlers at BC All-Terrier in 2008), Norway (Scandinavian Sealyham terrier Society in 1989, entry of 26), Sweden (Scandinavian Sealyham terrier Society 2009, entry of 30), Wales (Sealyham Terrier Club 1989, parent club of breed, first foreigner ever, entry of 99, 44 exhibits) and England (Midland Sealyham Terrier Club 2010, 55 entries, 45 exhibits).

Mrs. Pamela B. Peat

Pamela and her husband, David, of Scottsdale, Arizona, bred Dachshunds for 35 years and produced many champions and group winners, including the only Longhaired Dachshund ever to win the Hound Group at Westminster. They now exclusively breed, raise, groom and show Affenpinschers.  Pamela is licensed or provisional to judge most terrier breeds and is licensed to judge all hounds and toy breeds.

Barbara Kornylo, Thistlegate Cairns

Barbara and her husband, John, have owned Cairns since 1986, and got involved in conformation in 1990.  Since then they have been active members of several Cairn Clubs, locally, nationally and internationally.  Barbara has held a number of board positions (including the Presidency of the Cairn Terrier Club of Northern California) in the Southern California, Northern California and National Cairn clubs and has been an active participant in these clubs’ events on several different levels.  In addition, she is a contributor for the AKC Gazette’s Cairn column.

Barbara has bred Cairns for the past twenty years with an emphasis on temperament, type, movement and health.   She has bred, owned and handled several of her dogs to their AKC championship in the Bred-by-Exhibitor class.  Barbara's dogs have won group placements at Great Western Terrier Association shows in the regular, bred-by and sweepstakes groups, and she has shown her dogs in the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club invitational show.  She has also finished two champions from the bred-by classes in Canada.

Barbara has judged a puppy match for the Northern California Cairn Club, sweepstakes for the Cairn Terrier Club of Southern California at Great Western Terrier Association in 2009 and will be judging the sweepstakes for the Columbia River Cairn Terrier Club in Portland this July.  Both sweepstakes judging assignments preceded the annual National Roving Specialty for Cairn Terrier of America.
